Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar, mixing well to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the yogurt, milk, and melted butter until smooth.
Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring with a spoon or spatula until a soft dough forms. If desired, fold in a teaspoon of garlic powder or your choice of herbs for added flavor.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it for about 1 minute until smooth. Avoid over-kneading.
Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a round bun.
Place the buns on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not touching.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving warm with butter or your favorite spread.
Notes
Serve the buns warm in a cloth-lined basket, brushed with a little extra melted butter on top for a glossy finish.
