2largeapples (any variety, preferably Granny Smith or Fuji)
1tablespoonlemon juice
2tablespoonsgranulated sugar
1teaspoonground cinnamon
a pinchsalt
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Core the apples and use a mandoline or a sharp knife to slice them into thin rounds (about 1/8 inch thick). The thinner the slices, the crispier they will become.
In a bowl, combine the sliced apples with lemon juice, ensuring all slices are well coated to prevent browning.
In a small bowl, mix together the sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the apple slices, tossing gently to coat.
Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are not overlapping.
Bake in the preheated oven for 2-3 hours, flipping the chips halfway through, until they are crisp and golden brown.
Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. They will continue to crisp up as they cool.
Store any leftover apple chips in an airtight container at room temperature.
Notes
Serve in a festive bowl or on a wooden platter, garnished with extra cinnamon sugar or fresh apple slices.
