1
4 teaspoon
salt
1
cup
chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
1
2 cup
chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease it.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
Add the eggs, one at a time, and mix well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt.
Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Gently fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using) to the batter.
Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.
Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the muffins cool in the tin for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature, dusted with powdered sugar or a drizzle of chocolate sauce on top for an extra treat.
